Customers of textile screen printing companies often want their products to have a softer feel than hard body armor. Using water-based textile inks can help people achieve this goal. As most printers are aware, screens that reject thermoset inks are sometimes made softer by the use of water-based inks. By following a few simple steps, we can make screen printing plates Good results when printing machine.

Step 1: Select the correct mesh as needed

Select the appropriate number of meshes based on ink manufacturer's recommendations. Ensure that the screen tension can meet the requirements of overhead printing plate and squeegee pressure, so as to protect the printing plate.

Step 2: Select the appropriate emulsion as required

Choose a completely waterproof emulsion or capillary photo film. For a true water-based ink, the desired effect can be obtained by using an inexpensive water-resistant diazo emulsion. However, many so-called water-based inks contain a small amount of solvent, so when printing with these inks, it is best to choose a fully waterproof dual-cure emulsion. In general, dual-cure emulsions perfectly integrate water resistance, durability, print quality, and recyclability.

Step 3: Degreasing the mesh

We can improve screen adhesion by properly degreasing the mesh. First wet the mesh with an appropriate screen degreaser (rather than a detergent) and apply them evenly on both sides of the screen. Wait a minute or two before washing them off. The screen will be completely It's clean. It is best to degrease each plate before applying the emulsion.

Step 4: Upper emulsion or film

Use a round-edged tool to apply the waterproof emulsion evenly to the screen. The emulsion is first applied to the printing surface of the screen (the side that is in contact with the substrate), and the mesh is then inspected from the squeegee to ensure a smooth and glossy emulsion coating. If necessary, people can also use the sharp surface of the coating machine to apply the surface coating or filler coating on the printing surface of the screen after the first drying stage to improve its smoothness. If people want to use capillary photo films or glue guns to glue, it is best to follow the manufacturer's requirements.

Step 5: The screen is completely dry

Drying the screen completely before exposure is a key step in producing a waterproof plate. Moisturizing ingredients in emulsions prevent the screen from fully curing during exposure. The dry screen helps improve the clarity of the printed edge. We can circulate, heat and dry the air through a drying cabinet, or we can increase the dryness of the room by installing a dehumidifier. In addition, people should also use a thermo-hygrometer to monitor the drying conditions in the plate production shop. It is understood that in the clean environment with a relative humidity of 35-45% and a temperature of 26-32°C (80-90°F), the printing plate has the best drying conditions. Dust in the control plate area helps reduce the number of pinholes in the plate. The screen drying area must use yellow safety lights, and their drying time must also be determined based on the ambient temperature, humidity, airflow, emulsion thickness, and the number of wet screens.

Step 6: Full Screen Exposure

Underexposure is a problem people often encounter when using water-based inks. Screens can only exhibit good water resistance when printed on the machine, if they are fully exposed. Although many dual-cure emulsions have a relatively high exposure latitude, it is still very important for waterproofing plates to maintain adequate exposure. Underexposure not only easily leads to pinhole problems, but also causes the printing plate to lose its ability to repel water-based inks.

We can use the Exposure Calculator and Color Change Method to determine the proper exposure. The analytical method is not suitable for waterproof printing plates.

Step 7: Close the plate and

To improve the screen's resistance to water-based inks, we'd better close off the open area and pinholes formed by the waterproof emulsion. The plate is again dried and then re-exposed to cure the blocked emulsion. Be sure to maintain normal exposure time, otherwise the blocked emulsion will not fully function as a water-based ink. In addition, we can also roll up the edge of the printing plate when needed.

Through these simple steps above, you will be able to produce a waterproof printing plate suitable for use with water-based inks.

Wine Glass

Wine Glass is a type of glass that is used to drink and taste wine. The idea that the shape of wine glass should be matched to the style of wine is widely debated. Most wine glasses are stemware, that is they are goblets composed of three parts: the bowl, stem, and foot. In some designs the opening of the glass is narrower than the widest part of the bowl (to concentrate the aroma), others are more conical. In addition, "stemless" wine glasses (tumblers) are available in a variety of sizes and shapes. The latter are typically used more casually than their traditional counterparts, as they negate the benefits of using stemmed wine glasses.
