City Consumers Association said that the children's furniture samples were purchased by the City Consumers Association as ordinary consumers in the major home stores in the city. The results of this comparative experiment show that the quality problems of children's furniture samples mainly focus on structural safety and formaldehyde emission.

The problems in structural safety are relatively prominent, and more than 20% of the total samples do not meet the national quality standards. Among them, 5 samples were not rounded; one sample did not use glass parts as specified.

The most serious problem is that the formaldehyde emission exceeds the standard. According to the national quality standard, the formaldehyde emission should be less than or equal to 1.5mg/kg. In this comparison test, the formaldehyde emission of 4 samples exceeded the standard. The reporter recently visited the market and found that some children's furniture operators did not clearly indicate the applicable age range of children's furniture, such as 3 to 6 years old, 7 years old and above, outside the height of the ground or the height of the child's standing surface of 160 cm or less. The use of glass parts, drawers, keyboard holders and other push-pull parts does not have anti-pull device; below 160 cm, there is no rounding or chamfering treatment, or the protruding part has no protective design and other issues.

The relevant person in charge of the Shenyang Consumers Association said that if the children's furniture structure has sharp corners and the use of glass components is not in accordance with regulations, it may cause accidental injury to children.
