Operating Procedures for the Pressure Testing Machine

Before starting the pressure testing machine, proper pre-test preparations must be completed. Only trained personnel should operate the equipment; others are strictly prohibited from using it. The following steps should be followed: 1. Check the oil level in the hydraulic reservoir and ensure that all oil lines are securely connected. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the reservoir until it reaches the recommended level indicated on the oil filler cap. 2. Allow the machine to warm up for approximately 20 minutes after turning on the power supply to ensure stable operation. 3. Prepare the test specimen and verify that all instrument connections are secure and functioning properly. To operate the machine: 1. Start the motor, close the oil return valve, and turn the speed control handle counterclockwise to allow oil to flow into the system. This will raise the piston and move it away from the bottom of the cylinder. 2. Place the test specimen on the upper platen and adjust the height so that it is about 1–2 mm below the upper plate. 3. Adjust the speed control valve to regulate the rising speed according to the required loading rate. Ensure smooth and controlled movement during the test. 4. When the specimen breaks, slowly open the oil return valve to lower the piston. Make sure to open the valve gradually to avoid sudden drops. At this point, the load reading on the pointer indicates the failure load of the specimen, which should be recorded immediately. 5. Remove any debris from the test area and prepare for the next test. After completing the test, press the stop button to turn off the motor and then disconnect the power supply. Safety and Maintenance Precautions: 1. The testing machine should be installed in a clean, dry, and temperature-controlled environment. It should be placed away from sources of vibration, corrosive gases, and strong magnetic fields. 2. The machine must be mounted on a solid and level foundation, ideally at least 50 cm above ground level. Two anchor bolts should be embedded in the foundation to secure the machine firmly. 3. Keep the machine clean at all times. Regularly inspect and lubricate any metal parts that lack protective coatings to prevent rust and corrosion. 4. The piston's maximum travel should not exceed 80 mm. A limit switch is installed on the control box to automatically stop the motor when the piston reaches its maximum position. To lower the piston, loosen the oil return valve slowly. Maintenance: It is recommended to change the hydraulic oil every six months or as needed. Always use clean, high-quality oil to maintain the performance and longevity of the machine. Troubleshooting: If any issues arise during testing, do not attempt to repair the equipment yourself. Immediately contact the designated maintenance personnel and report the problem to the quality assurance officer for further action.
