At the school-enterprise cooperation meeting in the first half of 2008, printing professionals became one of the most demanded high-tech talents. The author interviewed Wang Huaizhu, an expert in China's post-press industry, and learned that the technical talents in China's printing industry are not only seriously in shortage in quantity, but also have outstanding problems in quality. The shortage of printing technology talents has been paid attention to by the industry education department.

In recent years, there is a big gap in printing professionals. The printing majors of a technical school in Shaanxi have been booked by more than 30 mainstream newspapers, magazines and other printing units in the province before graduation. At the same time, many companies or enterprises have very high requirements for high-tech employed printing technicians. For example, the requirement of a rotary printing press captain in a printing center of a newspaper in Guangzhou is: proficiency in lithographic printing technology and years of experience in newspaper rotary printing and management And once served as the captain or deputy captain of large-scale rotary printing machines, I am afraid that there are not many skilled workers who can meet the above conditions. As such, the status quo of the shortage of skilled workers obviously cannot meet the rapid development of high technology in China's printing industry.

According to Wang Huaizhu, a senior appraiser of the National Vocational Skills Appraisal and a post-press industry expert, in this year ’s senior technician appraisal, there are very few printing industry technicians who can be awarded the title of “golden blue collar” as a senior technician. There are few successes in the post-press field.

Regarding this status quo, Wang Huaizhu explained: "The high conditions for selecting senior technicians are one reason, because both the theory, the skills, and the thesis defense require the participants to achieve a very good level. The most important thing is printing The overall quality of craftsmen in the industry still needs to be improved. Especially in the post-press area, the skills of workers are weak and the equipment is so advanced that many people are self-taught. "

The skill level of the printing industry is low, and education and training are still unable to solve the problem. Wang Huaizhu, who has been engaged in printing education for many years, has shown great concerns about the current status of the teaching of printing in China. She said: "At present, the education and training of printing colleges can not keep up with the rapid development of the printing industry. Take post-press as an example In the world, post-press mostly belongs to the front-end field of technology, and domestic colleges and universities have incomplete post-press courses and faculty structure settings, and some post-press technical workers are self-taught. Secondly, there are few teachers in the printing profession, and some are in the quality of teaching The standard cannot be met because many teachers also lack practical operation experience. Again, although our printing majors have a higher theoretical level, the actual operation ability is poor, and there is not enough practical exercise. "

Printing companies need to introduce a large number of talents, and how to retain talents is also a problem they need to pay attention to. Wang Huaizhu also pointed out that printing companies ignore the improvement of the quality of technicians and the lack of training for employees. She said that "low wages or the inability of technicians to develop their skills are all important factors that hinder the improvement of technicians' skills."

Facing the shortage of skilled workers in the printing industry, all relevant departments in the industry are exploring effective countermeasures. The General Administration of Press and Publication has adopted cooperation with higher education institutions and higher vocational and technical schools, and is preparing to establish several training bases for printing talents.

At present, the General Administration has established two printing talent training bases in cooperation with the School of Publishing and Printing of Shanghai University of Technology and Anhui Press and Publication Vocational and Technical College, and plans to continue to set up in other provinces and cities in the future. School-enterprise cooperation to build a printing internship base has also become a new model for printing talent training.

Shanghai has recently issued 7 incentive policies for skilled workers, including "delayed retirement of highly skilled talents". Subsequently, Shenyang also issued the "Shenyang Technical Workers Training and Use Measures", which stipulates that Shenyang enterprises must establish a subsidy system for skilled workers. All these new methods have paid attention to the skilled personnel in the printing industry. It is hoped that these new measures can help the shortage of skilled workers in the printing industry in China be resolved as soon as possible.
