For more than two millennia, people have been making paper from plant fibers and raw materials. Today, the application of a new technology allows the use of stone for papermaking. Yunnan Yunfeng and other domestic paper-making companies have begun to replace some of the plant fiber raw materials with non-metallic mineral wollastonite fine powder, producing thousands of tons of high-quality paper. It is estimated that for each ton of wollastonite ultra-fine powder used in papermaking, approximately 3.6 cubic meters of wood can be saved, and the “black liquor” discharge during the wood pulping process is also reduced, thus protecting the environment.

Paper made from stone materials not only has the advantages of waterproofness, tear resistance and impact resistance. At the same time, it can reduce the cost from 100 to 300 yuan for each ton of wollastonite ultrafine powder.
