Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Research recently successfully developed a 3976 hydrocracking catalyst with high nitrogen and high flexibility, which has passed the development and industrial application appraisal.

The 3976 hydrocracking catalyst was developed based on the need for capacity expansion of some existing hydrocracking units in the country, and its performance can be comparable to current international standards.

The successful operation of the catalyst in the 1.4 million-ton/year hydrocracking industrial plant of the refinery of Liaoyang Petrochemical Company's branch office showed that its activity is good, not only satisfying the Liaohua hydrocracking unit's processing capacity expanding from 1 million tons/year. The need of 1.4 million tons/year also reduced hydrogen consumption and achieved the goal of tapping potential and increasing efficiency of existing devices.

The catalyst can increase the yield of high-quality jet fuel and diesel while ensuring the need for heavy naphtha production. The product distribution and properties meet the production needs of the company and can create economic benefits of more than 100 million yuan annually.
