Jaime Hayon Show Whimsical Caesarstone Installation
â€. Since establishing his own studio in 2000, Jaime Hayon has been a leading force in the design world, known for his imaginative and artistic approach. From 2003 onwards, he fully dedicated himself to personal projects and has since become one of the most celebrated designers globally.
His unique vision first gained attention with the exhibition ‘Mediterranean Digital Baroque’ at London’s David Gill Gallery. This was followed by numerous exhibitions and installations across major galleries and museums worldwide, including the Vivid Gallery, Mak Vienna, Groninger Museum, Aram Gallery, London’s Design Museum, Mudac Museum, Gallery Thomas in Munich, Walker Art Centre, Centre Pompidou, and the Basel Art Fair. His work is now part of the permanent collections of several prestigious institutions.
At this year’s Interior Design Show (IDS) in Toronto, designer Jaime Hayon unveiled a whimsical installation made from Caesarstone. The seven new pieces were the result of a year-long collaboration between Hayon and the quartz manufacturer. This is just the first installment of what will be a larger series. The collection, titled Stone Age Folk, includes face cabinets, bird tables, and wall masks crafted using traditional stone marquetry techniques.
Instead of typical kitchen or bathroom countertops, Hayon reimagined the material into playful, fantastical furniture pieces that reflect his creative spirit. Inspired by nature, folklore, and the natural world, these works showcase a whimsical menagerie of shapes and forms that only Jaime Hayon could bring to life.

In working with Caesarstone, I became curious about what’s doable through material and technology. Caesarstone inspires designers and creatives to think of new ideas and bring novelty and innovation through creativity. This is what the installation for Caesarstone is about—this sort of combination of ideas, from folklore to fauna to color to material to stone to furniture, resulting in unique pieces that can be functional or completely surreal and non-functional. It's about mixing the ingredients with our own intuition to create a new world, inspired by the possibilities of the material.
