After thorough testing, only 15 batches were deemed qualified, resulting in an overall pass rate of 83.3%. Notably, the cv7743n bedside table from Columbini Furniture (China) Co., Ltd. failed the safety structure test—specifically regarding the edges and corners. As a result, it was placed on the black list. The inspection covered various aspects including appearance requirements, physical and chemical properties, structural design, mechanical stability, strength, formaldehyde emissions, and warning labels. Three batches of products did not meet the required standards, with formaldehyde emission and structural safety being the main concerns.

On November 11, the reporter visited a Columbini store located near the West Fourth Ring Road. It was discovered that the unqualified cv7743n bedside table was still on display and even recommended in the store’s shopping guide. The store had recently opened, and many items lacked price tags, making it difficult for the reporter to find the specific model. Eventually, the product code "cv7743n" was identified from the shopping guide. The guide pointed out a small blue bedside table, which the reporter confirmed as the one under scrutiny. The table featured a two-tier design, with a rounded top and a drawer with visible corners. Additionally, it had wheels at the base, allowing children to reach inside, posing a potential risk of injury.
Later, the reporter visited another Columbini store near the West Third Ring. Although no sample of the cv7743n model was displayed, the store confirmed that the product was still available for sale.
This incident has raised serious concerns about consumer safety and the effectiveness of quality control measures. Parents are urged to be cautious when purchasing children's furniture and to check for compliance with national safety standards.
