Daiso Corporation in Japan developed its new ECO product "EPION" with half the conductivity of natural rubber in its epichlorohydrin rubber (ECO) division, and it is expected to be used in rubber parts for machines such as copiers and printers. The company is Japan's only manufacturer of this product. This new product changes the molecular arrangement of the starting materials epichlorohydrin, ethylene oxide, and glycidyl acrylate. Apart from having the basic characteristics of ECO, it also has half the conductivity of natural rubber, and therefore can replace the mid-resistance characteristics. In recent years, ECO has been used as a rubber roller for multifunction copiers and computer printers. It is estimated that the product market can reach 500 tons after 3 years.
