The Best of Stockholm Design Week

If you're a fan of Scandinavian design, then you've probably heard about Stockholm Design Week. It's one of the most anticipated events in the design calendar, bringing together some of the brightest minds in architecture, fashion, and product design. From workshops and seminars to exhibitions and networking opportunities, there's something for everyone at this incredible event. As someone who loves to keep an eye on what's happening in the design world, I couldn't help but notice how much buzz there was around this year's Stockholm Design Week. One of the standout moments for me was when White Arkitekter announced their goal to make all their buildings carbon neutral by 2030. It was inspiring to hear Alexandra Hagen talk about the challenges of achieving zero-carbon architecture and the importance of sustainable design. And let's not forget about the fashion side of things! Nike had quite the presence at the event, showcasing their vibrant uniforms for the Olympics and unveiling some exciting new products like the Vaporfly trainers. It was fascinating to learn about the innovations behind these designs and how they're pushing boundaries in both performance and aesthetics. Of course, no design event would be complete without some stunning exhibitions. One of my favorites was "Southern Lights" by Origin, which celebrated the connection between Scandinavia and Portugal through beautiful fragrance sculptures, hairbrushes, vases, and more. Another must-see was the Powder Vase by Jenny Nordberg Hem, which perfectly encapsulates the brand's commitment to sustainability and local craftsmanship. For those who love luxury interiors, Gubi's pop-up space at Hotel Six was definitely worth checking out. They showcased a range of timeless pieces, including new travertine Epic Tables by Gamfratesi and innovative lighting and furniture designs by Space Copenhagen. And if you're a fan of the Bouroullec brothers, their collaboration with Iittala at Wetterling Gallery was nothing short of spectacular. Their hand-blown glass flowers and vases were simply breathtaking. All in all, Stockholm Design Week was a celebration of creativity, innovation, and sustainability. Whether you're a seasoned designer or just someone who appreciates great design, there's always something new and exciting to discover. So, tell me—what did you think of this year's event?
